College Name – JAI HIND COLLEGE

Course Name – BAF

Which year – FY

  • Tell us about yourself

I have been dancing since I was 5 so that is definitely one of passions. I have done my arrangetram in bharatnatyam and I have represented my school at various levels under both folk dance as well as western dance. I have performed over 50 bharatnatyam programs all over Maharashtra.  I just love listening to English songs and I love watching English TV shows a lot. I just love reading all types of novels. I am also the school topper in economics in HSC board exams.

  • Tell us about your college

I love how big my college is and especially the location. My college faces Marine drive so definitely one of the plus points. Apart from that, it is also one of the top colleges in Mumbai. The involvement of my college in extra-curricular activities is really nice as well. The faculty is very well educated and teaches really well. My favorite teacher is Yasmin ma’am. That is because she makes sure that each and every student understands what she is teaching and will keep on teaching until we grasp the concept. The happiest moments were during the IV and when we were able to interact with everyone. The saddest I have yet to face. The memorable moments include days during my fest Entourage and when I got an O grade during semester 1.

  • When did you join BAF? Which year you are in? What inspired you to choose BAF and not any other course?

I used to love accounts even during 11th and 12th. So naturally, it was the best option for me to choose BAF. I am in first year and second semester of BAF.  I joined BAF 2013-14.

  • According to you, what is BAF / BBI / BMS / BFM / BMM / BBA all about? As a student, what changes would you like to bring in Indian education system?

All the unaided courses meaning BAF, BFM BBI etc. are all about specialization in their specific courses. Whether it be accounting and finance or financial markets or anything, unaided courses is basically all about preparing the students in whatever fields they like. If I were to make any changes in the Indian education system, make the 3 years course into a 4 year course because we need 16 years of education to study further in abroad and we get only 15 years so students who want to pursue something abroad then they face difficulty. Also, stop judging people on the basis of their marks since their field of interest may not be studies and they may be brilliant in other fields like fine arts, dancing etc.

  • Who in your life has influenced the most?

My mother is the most influential person in my life. This is because even after doing 6-7 hours of job per day, she still has time to come home and spend time with her family and become and family woman as well as businesswoman. Also, my mother is a bharatnatyam dancer as well so I really look up to her and want to be more like her when I grow up.

  • What would you advice someone planning to do BAF?

I would say that if your love is in the field of accounts, then BAF is definitely the perfect field for you. You will be able to achieve a lot by studying BAF. You should definitely pursue this as your career.

  • 3 Questions you would like to ask an MBA?
  1. What did you do before doing MBA?
  2. Why did you decide to do MBA?
  3. What are you planning to do after pursuing MBA?

  • What are your future plans?

I am currently also studying to become CMA which is cost and management accountant. It will hopefully be done in 5 years so I will be working as a cost auditor if everything goes as planned. I will work for 2 years after that and then I will do MBA in marketing because I have interest in that as well.

  • Your feedback for BAF.co.in?

It is an interesting website that gives lots of valuable information to students. You get to know a lot of things about students doing the same course as you and it helps to enlighten you and gives you more knowledge about the course and the students.

Thanks on behalf of the readers, we wish you the best for all your future endeavors.
