1) Tell us about yourself?

I am Khyati Nilesh Gada, pursuing my graduation in BAF, currently in the third year. I joined BAF because I liked Accounts.

2) How does it feel to be a Topper of the college in TY Sem V exams?

Feel it yourself.  It’s great to see my parents and teachers proud of me.

3) Whom will you credit your success to?

To my parents, teachers as well as my friends who always supported me.

4) Did you start preparing from the first day of your TY Sem V?

No, didn’t even think of it.

5) How did you study for Sem V?

I had joined classes for Sem 5. I had concept clarity of topics while they were taught in lectures itself. I practiced sums and also went through some additional problems in textbook during exams to be more confident.

6) Which are the easy subjects in Sem V?

I found Management Accounting and Cost Accounting easy. Financial Accounting 5 & 6 are interesting subjects.

7) Any special way of writing the answers? Do you write answers in bullet points or in paragraphs?

Yes, I do write answers in bullet points or I number each point for theory answers. Presentation and neatness makes a difference.

8) Did you draw any diagram in any paper? Is it mandatory? Does it help to get more marks?

No, we didn’t have any such diagrams. I tried to draw flowcharts wherever possible.

9) Any specific study pattern adopted i.e. timetable / how many hours per subject per day etc.?

No, I didn’t prepare any specific timetable. I was regular in practical subjects and had concept clarity. When I actually started studying for exams, I made it a point to balance between theory and practical subjects as there was only 1 theory subject i.e. Economics, but its portion was vast. Since I liked practical subjects, I used to practice sums when I got bored of theory.

10) How do you fight against mood swings and distractions during exam preparation?

I took regular breaks while studying and didn’t study for a long time at a stretch. This helped me from distractions as during the breaks I did what I like which refreshed my mind, be it chatting with my friends, playing games on cellphone, watching funny or motivating videos, listening to music etc and the rest of the time I studied seriously.

11) If you are made the Vice Chancellor of Mumbai University, what changes would you like to initiate in Indian education system?

I would like to replace the 75:25 system with 60:40 pattern again and more of presentations and projects should be there rather than mere assignments that students just copy. Practical knowledge is very much needed.

12) Many students prepare sincerely but constantly live under fear that they are not from big college / not from English medium and eventually lose confidence. What message would you like to these students?

Just give your best.

13) Through this struggle and success, what have you learned? What is the wisdom of life and competition?

I have actually learnt to just give my best and have faith.
